From the Principal . . .
Richard Yoakley School serves young people from all middle and high schools in Knox County. Students are referred from their base schools and processed either through a screening committee or by case review. We believe that every individual has the right to opportunities to develop his/her full and unique potential (cognitive, physical, emotional, and social) in order that he/she may function as a contributing member of society.

It is our staff's desire that our students will learn social skills that will allow them to return successfully to their base schools. These skills will include improved communication and decision making skills and taking responsibility for their own actions.
They must complete a level system assigned to instill self-discipline and self-accountability in order to successfully exit the program. We are proud to say that over 80% of our students master the program. |
